Yellow Mountain Tea House

A friend of mine quit drinking alcohol last month, which I support, as she used to drink more than anyone I know.

She has been drinking a lot of genmaicha, a Japanese green tea with roasted brown rice. So I bought her a few ounces at this place in Old Colorado City, an old neighborhood that spent one month as the territorial capital of Colorado in 1862.

The streets were quiet but this place was packed; I overheard an employee tell a customer that there would be a one-hour wait for a table.
