One of you inquired about this sauce that I used to make pizzas the other evening. I got it at Whole Foods in ABQ a couple of weeks ago when I was killing time waiting for my cousin Alex to arrive.
It's Rao's and it's Whole Foods, so it's fucking expensive. In my memory, the jar was $13.99.
Was it good?
Definitely.
Was it THAT good?
No.
I made a lavash pizza with mozzarella and a drizzle of balsamic.
I also made one with olive oil, salt, and freshly-shaved cheese, which I preferred.
I ate the whole jar, but I just don't see myself buying another. (Unless I'm trying to impress a lady, of course.)
The $3.99 Kroger-brand jars of pasta sauce are just as good.
