New Year's Eve

I acquired this BBQ sauce in Colorado in October; I liked it.

But not as much as I liked watching Vanderbilt lose.

I received a roll of butcher paper for Christmas, so I put it to use smoking ribs.

If you don't BBQ as much as I do, you might not have heard of the 3-2-1 method:

- You smoke the ribs at a low temperature for 3 hours to start the cooking and impart smoke flavor.
- You wrap them in butcher paper or aluminum foil with some liquids (in this case, apple cider vinegar with butter and brown sugar) and return them to the smoker to continue cooking, and also steam them for 2 hours.
- You remove them, slather them with sauce (in this case SoCal's own Chris & Pitts) and return them to the smoker for 1 hour.

- And never, ever share with Poop Dog.

My father cannot eat pork, of course, so he requested chicken potstickers.

This bitch ALWAYS wants food.

Craft beer pretzels and beer-cheese dip while watching Michigan vs Texas in the Two-Teams-I-Don't-Really-Like-But-I-Dislike-Their-Rivals-More Bowl.

(NOTE: It's actually the Citrus Bowl. I just made up that other name.)

This Amazon-brand mole sauce is very good.

But it's not available on Amazon.

I bought two jars at the Amazon Fresh in Pasadena in September (because that's all they had in stock).

She is incorrigible!

Miami vs. Ohio State.

I don't like either school.

This marked year 17 in a row without alcohol on New Year's Eve. Admittedly, I considered getting Coors Light and watching this game outside, but, while it's the warmest it has ever been on December 31st since I moved here, it is still too cold to really enjoy being outside, even with the fire going.
