Brews & Cues is right next to Beaver Creek Brewery, the first place I stopped on this afternoon. (You can see the Beaver Creek sign in the background of the first photo.)
I wasn't going to stop here. Pool halls were a part of my life in my 20s, but they no longer hold any appeal.
But finally I was hungry for dinner on this evening, and I returned to Beaver Creek, where I had admired their food earlier - which I wrote about a week ago.
The place was packed; there wasn't even a seat at the bar. The hostess told me it would probably be an hour wait "But you can sit at the bar in our pool hall right now; there is no wait." And then she walked me through the brewery and into the back door of the pool hall.
It's the same place! Just a different name for the pool section. And there was hardly anyone there.
I ordered a beer and some food. "It's gonna be a wait," the bartender explained, "as we share the same kitchen and they are slammed."
I did not care. I was drunk and finally in the mood to watch college football, so I was more than happy to hang out for a while.
The elote dip was delicious, full of sweet corn, cheese, and chorizo.
The pizza was terrible; even while inebriated, I recognized this.
