I made a list of bars to visit in downtown El Paso. A lot of them were not open at 3 PM on a Wednesday - no big surprise there - but it was 99º and I was on vacation, so I wanted beer.
The first stop was The Garrison.
I immediately felt upon entering that I was at McMurphy's circa 2004. The place literally had no customers except me, just a hodgepodge collection of furniture waiting to be sat on by frat boys and underage girls with fake IDs once the DJ started at 10 PM.
Still, they had cold bottles of Coors Banquet, and the bartender was a very friendly guy who gave me several good tips on which bars to visit next.
So, while I did not like the place at all, I had a good time for the 10 minutes I was there.
