In my entire career, I never had to work on the 4th of July. Until this job. And that day is a lot of work.
That being said, it's also pretty fun.
I bought cupcakes for the employees.
My assistant showed me this way of eating cupcakes, something she'd seen a celebrity do, and claims it is the best way to eat them.
I called her a communist and ate mine the traditional way.
My guess was that we would serve about 75 meals, but it actually ended up being more.
I did not have a burger or ribs. I imagine you can guess why.
Because I wanted a hot dog.
I turned off Wimbledon to watch the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Later in the afternoon, I had a second dog.
I left work around 4:30 and came home to cook my own food. I started by reheating some of the ribs from work.
Poop Dog had to sit outside because she is annoying when there are ribs being consumed.
We had a lot of rain in the last week and everything is much more lush than I am used to on 4th of July.
I also smoked King salmon.
But mostly I drank Coors Light.
Although when I ran out of it, I drank a Mountain Beach.
