Sunday

A few of you may remember when we had dinner at Murph's house in January and I told you about my coworker who was demoted for being inappropriate with the young ladies who work at the club. (But not just them - he also sent an Amazon link to a strap-on dildo to a 58-year-old man working in the cafe.)

I have been trying to replace him since the spring but the owner was dragging his feet. Finally, he relented.

Long story short: the pervert's replacement immediately uncovered that, in less than two years, the guy has embezzled more than $100K from the business.

This past week has been the most unpleasant I have ever experienced in my entire career (work-wise, not personally).

Some friends invited me to meet them at a brewery, which normally would be one of my favorite things to do on a golden autumn day. But this was no normal day. All I wanted to do was sit in front of the TV all day, watch football, and eat.

I began with my usual breakfast: egg whites, turkey sausage, and hash browns; the wrinkle this time was using sweet potato hash browns.

I bought this mustard when I visited Troy in Dallas last autumn. (It is the mustard of Bijan Robinson, who played football at UT.)

I ate cheese, crackers, and the mustard while watching Bijan and the Falcons beat the Cowboys.

When the Cowboys lose, we all win.

Ditto the Patriots.

I cooked my dad a turkey burger, with lettuce and In-n-Out spread that I picked up in Colorado. Since he can't eat Double-Doubles anymore.

Okay, this is just awesome.

The Packers and Lions are playing.

At Lambeau Field.

In the wind and the rain and possibly the snow.

Wearing uniforms from the 1950s.

Two kinds of boneless wings.

These are tossed in a new BBQ sauce that is one of the five best I have ever had. It just came out a few weeks ago and deserves its own post.

These are Yang-Nyeom - a sweet & (only slightly) spicy Korean chicken sauce.

"Warning: Cancer and reproductive harm."

Awesome.

Fortunately I have never wanted to have children.

And there is no history of cancer in my family.

Caramel Apple cupcakes.

I have not had a caramel apple since I was a child.

(To be honest: I never truly had one when I was a child; I would lick the caramel off the apple and then throw the apple away.)

These were way too sweet.

Okay, back to my recent Colorado adventures tomorrow.
