For the third week in a row, I am eschewing ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.
As I have written before, the telecast sucks - which is magnified by the fact that it was so great for 30 years.
But Mondays are quite busy for me at work in the summer, and being tired or hungover is not the "minor inconvenience" it once was. It now fucking sucks.
Also... the Saturday game on Fox is the Brewers at Dodgers... at 5 PM MDT.
A late-afternoon start time in summer at Dodger Stadium is one of the great sights in sports, like the Rose Bowl on New Year's Day or Notre Dame Stadium in October.
It's special.
The scoring:
1: BAD. I didn't finish.
2: MEH. Probably not something I would ever get again.
3. GOOD. Would order if my only other choices are IPAs.
4. VERY GOOD. Would happily drink any time.
5. GREAT. Great.
E. CUARENTA CERVEZA - 3
Too malty. Tastes like a pilsner. Which is fine - I like pilsners - but I don't know why this calls itself a “Mexican lager.”
I have had this one before. I fell in love with 21st Amendment more than a decade ago when I was living in New York City and their Hell or High Watermelon served me well on brutally humid summer days. After moving back to California, I discovered this beer, but I have not had it in many years. It’s a little bit sweeter than I remember - which is the only thing that keeps it from being a 5 - however, that probably has more to do with my taste buds changing than memory
This is EXACTLY what I want in a Mexican lager: crisp, refreshing, light on the palate. (But why does it read “ale” on the can?) I looked on the website and it reads "made with roasted tortilla chips." Just a great beer.
Too heavy and malty-sweet. Reminds me of Gordon Biersch's beers that make you want to take a nap after three sips. I don’t understand how a brewer creates a beer like this and says “Awesome, I feel like I’m on the beach in Ensenada.”
Another one that I have had before. Many times, in fact - one summer they kept it in stock at Old Towne Pub just for me. Such a great, refreshing beer that just feels like summer .
Maggie desperately wanted a piece of lobster but she didn't get any because she is a Poop Dog.
