I discovered BBQ chicken pizza at CPK in Santa Barbara when I was 13 years old and for the next decade it was pretty much my favorite food in the world - save perhaps the fried cheese at Tony Roma's or boneless wings at Cheesecake Factory.
(Suffice it to say, my diet was not too adventurous back then.)
There are many I remember more fondly than CPK's: Village Pizzeria, BJ's, Avanti, The Sink in Boulder, etc... but the best I have ever had was at Crocodile Cafe.
That is the pizza I aspire to copy every time I make one. Sometimes I come close.
This time I did not.
It was still delicious, though.
