Trader Joe's Detroit Style Uncured Pepperoni Pizza

I've never actually tried a "Detroit-style pizza." I don't get the whole thick crust thing; it tastes too much like bread. 

Still, you know how much I love Trader Joe's, so if they thought it was a good idea to make a Detroit-style pizza, I was more than willing to try it. 

It comes with its own pan in which to bake it, which was cool. 

And the pepperoni and sauce were pretty good. 

But there was just too much dough. It tasted like breadsticks with a little bit of topping. I did not enjoy it. 

I added extra cheese and fresh basil, hoping that some more flavor would balance things out. 

It did not. There was still too much bread. 

So I cut the slices in half. This made it better. 

Kind of. 

I just don't enjoy this style of pizza.
