Efficiency at its Finest

The first time I ever visited Pagosa Springs, four years ago almost to the week, they were doing work on the roads downtown. 

The last time I spent the night in Pagosa Springs, one year ago almost to the week, they were still doing work on the roads downtown. 

So it was not a surprise to find that nothing has changed on this trip. 

In fact, the highway is down to only one lane as it passes through the heart of downtown, which created quite a traffic jam, as you might imagine. 

After parking my car at the hotel, I decided to take a walk. It was a glorious warm day in late spring at 7100 feet, and I was going to a few bars, so even if the roads had been clear, I still would have walked. 

They were pouring concrete and smoothing it over. 

This will come into play again tomorrow.
