She's All Growns Up!

I remember holding her when she was three days old and now she is in her final semester of law school.

Crazy.

When she was a teenager (and younger), I would take her to Forever 21, but she said she has outgrown that now.

She bought some clothes at Free People and I bought her this necklace.

She was surprised at how patient I was in Sephora.

"Sweetie, I have spent hours of my life waiting in Sephora for women I loved far less than I love you."

More than a decade ago, Emma was 15 and visited me in New York City. I took her to all her favorite stores on Broadway - the Forever 21 was FOUR STORIES TALL - and she was blown away at the sheer size of the stores and the city.

At Chelsea Market, I asked if she wanted to go into Anthropologie. She recoiled.

"No way!!! That's my mom's store!!!"

Now, she loves it.

She tried on a button-down pinstripe shirt that she loved (so did I) but she revealed that she had spent all of her money at Free People and Sephora and couldn't afford to buy it.

So I bought it for her.

"You can wear this to interviews at law firms," I said.

Christ.
