The first night on the road, I wanted to get something quick for dinner, as I planned to drive as far as I could until I needed to get a motel room and pass out for a few hours.
I went into Whataburger - they often have burgers in Texas that you can't get in New Mexico, and often they look delicious.
You know what they were serving in Amarillo as a "special" burger?
A chile cheeseburger.
Pass.
Right around the corner was The Lost Cajun. I was hungry and did not want to waste any more time looking for a place to eat, so I stopped in.
The good?
I ordered a Coors Light and they brought it in a New Belgium glass, which made me much happier than it probably should have.
Also, the catfish in my combo was delicious.
The bad?
The shrimp had not been cooked long enough and were flabby. And the fries were completely mediocre.
The ugly?
The worst cole slaw I have ever had.
I do not regret stopping here because it was inexpensive and did not take me very long. But I cannot recommend it.
