Football Sunday

It was a long week of work. The weather has been much warmer than normal and things have been busy. Saturday was our holiday party so, in addition to my normal week of work, I put in another 10 hours on that day.

Which is why yesterday, all I wanted to do was relax and eat some good food. And there were some damn good games.

(If you are not as big a football fan as I - which you likely are not - you may not realize this, but even though we're 10 days from Christmas, every Division in the NFL is still up for grabs. Most seasons, there are a couple of teams that are head and shoulders above the rest. This season, there are 8, maybe even 10 teams that can realistically win the Super Bowl. I do not remember ever seeing anything like this.)

FRIED CHICKEN BISCUIT & THE MORNING GAMES
With bacon and balsamic jam.

NOTE: The Patriots lost, Shedeur Sanders looked like shit, and the Chiefs not only lost and were eliminated from the playoffs, but that whiny little butterball Mahomes tore his ACL.

This is admittedly petty of me, but I could not have asked for a better morning of games.

INDOOR PICNIC & THE AFTERNOON GAMES
Crackers, black pepper salami, two kinds of cheese, and beer mustard.

NOTE: The afternoon was just as good as the morning. The Broncos won, the Eagles won (I don't care about the Eagles but their winning is bad for the Cowboys), and the Rams won to clinch a playoff spot and set up the game of the season on Thursday night - Rams vs. Seahawks.

The only way this day gets better is if the Cowboys lose at home to the Vikings.

JAMAICAN JERK BONELESS WINGS & SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

NOTE: The Cowboys lost at home to the previously 5-8 Vikings.

There are certain things that just make me feel American: road trips on two-lane highways, wearing my American-flag-bison t-shirt on the 4th of July, grilling hot dogs, drinking Coors Banquet, and hating the Dallas Cowboys.
