College Football Weekend

For the first time ever, opening weekend of college football featured THREE Top-10 matchups.

I pulled this out of a drawer at work and put it on my desk, where it will remain until February 9th.

Goddamn, it's good to have college football back.

FRIDAY DINNER:

Lavash pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and fresh basil.

And watched Colorado lose.

I like Colorado football. I went there for one semester. You know how I feel about Boulder.

But the celebration of Deion Sanders as some kind of great coach has been nauseous. He is nothing of the sort.

SATURDAY BREAKFAST:
College GameDay

Hash browns, smoky links, egg whites.

SATURDAY SNACK:
Crawfish egg rolls and #1 Texas at #3 Ohio State.

Boring snack.

Boring game.
SATURDAY SNACK (PART 2):
Back in June, I bought two bags of ketchup and two bags of mustard, but made a vow not to open them until college football season.

SATURDAY DINNER:
Another lavash pizza, and #9 LSU at #4 Clemson.

SUNDAY LUNCH:
Boneless wings in "White Wing Sauce" (basically a MUCH spicier version of an Alabama white sauce).

And Virginia Tech vs. South Carolina.

This is the kind of game that I would not watch come November - to be honest, I probably wouldn't even watch next week. But I am so happy to have college football back in my life that I am watching as much of it as I can this weekend.

SUNDAY DINNER:
Obviously, I couldn't go through an entire weekend of fun like this without making an Asian meal.

#6 Notre Dame at #10 Miami.

It was the best game of the weekend, by far.

Stop me if you've heard this one before: Notre Dame lost when they had to play a good team.

What a great weekend. Can't wait to do this with some of you miscreants in two weeks. Bison brisket, Denver potato chips, Mountain Time for us normal people and Big Gay IPAs for RobJamGal.
